Need follow-up: Tough to say what is normal or not normal over computer. After an i&d, the area may be larger. Best is to call the provider, and get a re-check on the area to assure it is not worsening or getting infected. The provider who did the I&D knows your clinical case best and "first hand, " and will be able to more adequately provide your care. Good luck.

Maybe: Hard to say without actually seeing the wound, when an abscess is drained there is a cavity under the skin which was previously occupied by pus. Would get it checked to make sure it is healing properly. Do you mean that the wound is 2-3 times deeper or 2-3 times larger in area at the skin level?
