Doctor drained abscess of paronychia one week ago. now there is a whitish/yellowish hard skin in the area near the nail, where the drainage took place. pain significantly decreased. is such hard skin normal healing or should i go to doctor?

I would go back to the doctor. The hard skin remaining could cause a repeat of the infection. The doctor might want to remove the shin tissue.
