I went to doc again about my breast abscess. its smaller now. she put me on antibiotics for one more round. she plans to send me to a breast surgeon for a draining if needed and a u/s with biopsy. is this reasonable? i had normal mammogram in july?

An abscess can often be more completely resolved when it is opened and drained. It would be good to get an ultrasound to access the size and an opinion from a surgeon about draining it so that it can be completely treated, and you will not have to continue doing courses of antibiotics, which sometimes have a hard time getting into the abscess to treat the infection.
