Depending on the depth of the wound, it may take several months for the wound to heal completely. Avoid using harsh detergents, iodine or hydrogen peroxide on the wound as this may slow the production of new growth. Avoid any abrasive action that removes the white/grey skin as this can also disturb the new skin cells. Apply neosporin or vaseline to the wound and keep covered.
