Scarlet fever rash is not likely to start several days aftere starting antibiotic treatment. It seems yor doctor was mistaken or perhaps you misunderstood; "dead bacteria breaking down" is not a recognized cause of skin rash. It seems most likely your child has one of the many childhood viral infections that causes skin rash. Check back with the doctor if it continues or you remain concerned.
