A member asked:

How severe does liver dysfunction have to be to cause a decrease in protein c, s, anti thrombin 111, adamts13 and increase procoagulants ? can liver dysfunction from statin cause coagulation abnormalities ? would eliquis prevent a clot in this !?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It has to be a significant and prolonged dysfunction to cause failure. If not prolonged- most liver function insults are reversable as liver has great regenerative capacity. Liver dysfunction from statins is picked up early on followup tests. Eliquis has specific indications and not for liver -caused ones. Best to see your doc re all this.
