Some studies have suggested that statins may have mild anticoagulant properties themselves, but many patients on statins also take anticoagulants safely. I know that they are felt to be risky in patients who have had cerebral bleeding or at risk of intracranial hemorrhage. I'm reluctant to prescribe statins if a person has liver disease and elevated enzymes although I know that some clinicians do
