A member asked:

Does a statin reduce platelet aggregation and prevent clots in those who would go on to develop them from high cholesterol ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inhibition of platelet function is not the main mechanism of action of Statins. High cholesterol, per se, does not cause platelet aggregation. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
