Positive for ureaplasma urea. took doxy 100mg two times a day took it for 7 days, i now have uti symptoms similar to urethritis i tested for stds same time as ureapl & was negative. checked for stds again will doxy interfere just finished meds today?

There may have been no need for treatment. Ureaplasma urealyticum is a normal bacteria in the genital tract; some strains can cause nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) in men, but no symptoms or disease is known in women. You can expect a future UU test to be positive again; it almost always comes back. Doxy doesn't "interfere" with STD testing, except by curing true STDs like chlamydia.

Pl do not try to self diagnose and let your doc/ Urologist do it as to when and what test to order. Drink plenty of water
