Had abdominal u/s - slightly elevated bilirubin. us was normal except some cholesterol polyps in gallbladder but also said ascites throughout the abdomen which confused me. impression noted cholesterol polyps otherwise unremarkable u/s? logical?

No Ascites is never normal.

It is never normal to have a significant amount of ascites in the abdomen. If you have ascites and a slightly elevated bilirubin, it concerns me that you could have liver disease. You should follow up with your gastroenterologist. Do not skip this follow up. It could be important. Good luck.
