Ultrasound is not the optimal imaging system to examine the liver for the lesions you mentioned. It may be prudent to talk to your doctor if a CT or MRI or a biopsy is needed.

Cirrhosis is usually determined by a history and physical exam, followed by a laboratory evaluation and perhaps an ultrasound or CT scan of the abdomen. Ultrasound will pick up evidence of cirrhosis And fatty liver.
