True bacteriuria in pregnancy needs to be treated even if you are asymptomatic. However, your urine specimen can be contaminated with vaginal colonization so urine culture with a clean sample should be done for the correct diagnosis and treatment. In general, multiple different types of bacteria (urogenital contamination) are commonly seen in woman when urinalysis is done.
