A member asked:

Healthy, fit 37 yo male runner. recently began amitriptyline for a chronic pain condition. it's been very helpful for controlling pain but raised my resting heart rate from 55-65 bpm to 75-85bpm. is this damaging my heart/increasing cardiac risk?

The increased heart rate, although higher than your baseline, is still within normal limits. This will not damage your heart. Good luck to you!
