I have had 3.9 psa test. 50 year old male. hypothyroidism and hypogonadosm. all psa test have been normal. has bump in aviation 2020 at 3.2. have a had a few side pains here and there but nothing severe. no other symptoms?

I would have it checked again in 6 months, both total PSA and free PSA. If the number is climbing, you should see a urologist. Recently, MRI of the prostate has showed added value in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. If PSA is higher with a low free PSA percentage then you should request a prostate MRI for guiding the decision of prostate biopsy. Localized prostate cancer is often asymptomatic.
