If you never had a holter monitoring in the past you should have one done first to confirm frequent ectopic heart beats or other cardiac arrhythmia as the cause of your palpitation. Further work-up for differential diagnosis is different if cardiac arrhythmia is present or not during sleep. Good luck!

Start with your primary care doc for an exam and detailed history. A sleep study will likely be needed, heart monitoring as well, your doc will be able to coordinate locally. Make sure you are not gaining weight, try to lose if overweight, avoid caffeine containing drinks, alcohol.
