Does yellow ear drainage mean i have an ear infection because i have ear drainage and ear pain right now and the drainage is yellow im also having a headache with it and the headache is making me nauseous should i call my doctor?

Your symptoms can be due to otitis media (usually due to viral upper respiratory infection) or otitis externa (bacterial infection). Both conditions are usually self limited and ear exam is required for the correct diagnosis. You can take OTC analgesic like advil 200 mg x 2-3 tabs every 6 hours for the headache x 24 hours, see your doctor next day if you do not feel better. Good luck!

Yellow drainage from the ear can be a sign of otitis, or ear infection, but the only way to tell it’s by having b an examination of the ear to look at the eardrum. Sounds like eternal otitis. need to have ENT look with microscope, clean canal, possibly insert wick, and have prescription ear drops
