Since it is not possible to review your images on this site, we cannot be precise, but one possible answer is indeed a stroke. Whether this relates to the underlying cause of your epilepsy is unclear, but should be further discussed with a neurologist.

It is possible that this finding is consistent with a stroke in the brainstem. It may or may not be a "culprit lesion" regarding your history of epilepsy. Hopefully you are following with a board certified neurologist regarding your case. Not covered here is electroencephalography results, need for and use of anticonvulsants, driving status, need for blood thinners just to name a few
