A member asked:

What does this mean and if it is risky? t2w / flair hyperintensities noted in bilateral centrum semiovale and periventricular white matter, not showing diffusion restriction likely suggestive of small vessel ischemic changes?

This is a not-infrequent question here at HT. You describe a nonspecific and nondiagnostic MRI interpretation that can be caused by aging (microvascular angiopathy), smoking, migraine, prior head injuries, recreational drugs, etc. The images need clinical correlation with your symptoms. Discuss the findings with your physicians to plan the next course of action.
