Pressure in the eustacian tubes can also be due to fluid build up which the prednisone would not take care of. This fluid, if it stays in the middle ear or eustacian tube can become a jelly like material that is difficult to drain. Start with Warm Saline nasal washes and while infusing into your nostril, gently tap the opposite nostril so that the fluid can fill theeustacian tubes and help drain.
