You can but........: There are no studies that suggest that using one or the other--or both-- will help an ear infection. As a matter of fact there are studies to show that there is no benefit to using either of these medications. Pseudoephedrine may decrease some of the nasal congestion and make breathing easier, but the evidence that it will help the ear discomfort in theoretical only.
