The symptoms of a "cold" from a standard adenovirus may not be related to COVID-19, which may have occurred prior to your current symptoms. So-called "long COVID" with effects on "taste and smell" as well as fatigue, may persist for many months after active COVID-19 infection, so the test for COVID-19 may be negative and not related to your symptoms.

It is possible that this could still be Covid and the test could be false negative. It is also possible that if you take another test eventually the test will turn positive. In addition, it is also possible that you may have influenza or another viral respiratory tract infection. these infections are usually self-limited. See your doctor if you have any breathing difficulties. Good luck.
