Do not use it on the highest setting. Angle the water at 45 degrees to the gingival sulcus. The water pik does not replace proper brushing and flossing.

Personally, I think Water Piks are great devices. You should use the device with water flowing on teeth and gums. Fill the basin with water, turn device on, and let water spray on, in between teeth, and on gums. Let the water stimulate the gum tissue. Don’t turn the device up too, too high, so that it hurts your gums. The water on the teeth and gums will get rid of food debris. You will ❤️.

Unremoved bacteria will convert the sugars in the foods that you eat into hydrochloric acid. The acid will demineralize your tooth enamel. Talk to your Dentist about your oral hygiene regimen and about your between meals snack foods.
