Dental Exam: Bleeding gums are a sign of inflammation. If you haven't had a professional cleaning within the past six months, now is the time to call a dentist for an appointment. Your dentist will examine your teeth, determine the cause of the bleeding, and render the proper care.

See a periodontist: It sounds like you have gum disease. Gums tend to bleed when there are inflamed and irritated. You should see a periodontist for an evaluation of your gums.
