A member asked:

I have a plantar fasciitis on my left foot. im not sure where it came from. is there a way i could just get surgery on it to stop my pain.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Plantar facia are tissues that stretch between the bones of the bottom of your foot. Repetitive movement/stretching on these tissues can give rise to fasciitis which reflect chemical irritant factors at the site of pain. Proper foot inserts made commercially or by a podiatrist can reduce the tendency for a foot to do this. It's a good idea never to get foot surgery if other measures can fix it.
