I think you have had concern about this matter in the last couple days so I hope you should be free from your concern or anxiety as of today. If you do not have any chronic underlying disease which can affect your immune system, negative VDRL/RPR and FTA/ABS tests should rid you off the concern of syphilis infection at late latent stage. You do not need to avoid anything before the test.
