A member asked:

I have an irregular mole on my butt. doesn't look like any other moles. it has little brown globule things in it, too. however, it looks the same as it did two years ago (compared pictures) and my derm said it was fine. is it worth removing?

If you are worried about it, you can always have it removed. That would likely give you peace of mind. The other way to deal with it would be to have it checked by derm on a regular basis, as you are doing. But, if it is going to be a regular source of worry for you, then it makes sense to have it removed so you don’t need to be worried about it anymore. I’m sure your dermatologist will remove it!

Not until so decided by your dermatologist. Unfortunately it has to do with peace of mind and this is where you might want to have the lesion excised.

If your mole is not precancerous or cancerous, than leave it alone. As you grow older other Keratotic [moles] will develop and you will seek advice from your dermatologist. These moles are very common, I have them on my face and back, and as they are not precancerous I leave them alone and have them checked when I go to my dermatologist for yearly checkups.
