Can a "us transvaginal test" identify if an adnexal mass may represent a pedunculated fibroid or other adnexal mass? if not, which test would? there is also a trace amount of nonspecific free pelvic fluid. thanks?

An ultrasound procedure to define an adnexal mass should determine the difference between a "pedunculated" fibroid near the ovary coming from the uterus, and an ovarian mass which may require biopsy. "Trace fluid" in the lower abdomen is not unusual. See your GYN physician for guidance on the findings of the ultrasound.

Thank you. If there is a finding of underlying myometrial mass found in pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound, is this considered fibroid or polyp? Will this mass go away on its own? It is 1.8x1.6 cm in size. Possible it can go away before menopause?
My pelvic US showed a simple cyst on ovary & a 0.9x0.3cm echogenic lobulated mass, likely representing endometrial polyp vs. intracavitary fibroid with trace free fluid. Is it possible the polyp is cancerous? My PCP ordered a stat referral gynecology?
