My son was prescribed amoxicillin 400mg/5ml . 10ml twice a day for upper respiratory . hes 42lbs and 6 years old . is that dosage correct? thanks?

I think that the regimen is alright. Ask Pediatrician/Pharmacist if the dosage is okay.

The dose for weight is fine for treatment of an ear infection. Most respiratory infections are viral, but there may be indications of bacterial illness. The antibiotic is a good choice, if there is no penicillin allergy. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and fever.
