Consider this.......: It sounds like your child is at the wrong place at the wrong time and going from cold to cold. A cold will often last 10-14 days so it can seem as if he constantly has a cold. Children at this age often will experience 8-10 colds/ year.Not sure why amoxicillin is given ,as a cold is viral and will not respond to antibiotics. 1 out of 5 people with a cold can have a fever for 5-6 days,

Mgt: If he is growing and otherwise well, his respiratory illnesses should resolve within about 10 days. The antibiotic will not treat a viral infection, but his PCP may have diagnosed an ear infection or other problem.
