A member asked:

How common and often are renal cysts found on imaging like ct and ultrasound? is this something seen very often?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There was a study conducted in Japan that was published in 2002 in the Journal of Urology entitled "The Natural History of Simple Renal Cysts". The estimated prevalence of renal cysts was determined to be around 12%. They are more common in men and are more common with increased age.
