The ratio is high because one number is much higher than the other. Sometimes, this can be an inflammatory marker so if these numbers have never been abnormal before, it is worthwhile to repeat these labs in a couple of months. Did you take any over the counter meds or supplements? If the AST remains abnormal, your doctor can refer you to a liver specialist. Good luck!

All laboratory/imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results are not a cause of any immediate concern. Talk to your doctor about repeating the test in 3-6 months. Wish you good health!
