Your OB doc 's plan is appropriate. Ovarian cyst is usually asymptomatic unless it is very big. You have pain with menstruation, dysmenorrhea, so I guess why the pelvic ultrasound was done. Contraceptive pills may serve 2 purposes in your case by preventing more cyst development or alleviating the dysmenorrhea' s symptoms.
