A member asked:

Had a virectormy in one eye...since retina surgeon saw 2 peripheral tears and possible fluid going behind retina...surgeon used gas in the right eye...been asked to keep head vertical for 24 hours a day...how can i do this? also recovery time please?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep upright in an easy chair that you can prop yourself in that position. Recovery times vary and is best estimated by the surgeon that knows all the factors of your case.
