A member asked:

1.6 cm simple cyst on ovary 5 yrs post menopause. is this a concern? can it go away on its own? other ovary not seen on ultrasound. lining 5 mm. no bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Simple (no septations or solid components) occur frequently, and usually resolve without intervention. When cysts reach "10 cm", whether simple or complex, your GYN physician may recommend surgical removal/biopsy via laparoscopy.
