Clopidogrel (Plavix) 75mg daily mono therapy was compared to Aspirin in the CAPRIE trial in 1996 to have a statistically significant relative risk reduction only for peripheral artery disease (8.7%). A true aspirin allergy is anaphylaxis and the benefits and risks of taking it should be considered. Reference: https://www.hcplive.com/view/advances-in-pad-management-caprie-and-dapt-trials
