The Watchman device has been quite successful in getting most of the treated patients off actual anticoagulants after 45 days & use only aspirin thereafter. If you don't have valvular heart disease and can't take anticoagulants for some reason you're a candidate. However general anesthesia is used in the procedure and your cardiologist will have to ok you before the anesthesiologist will agree.
