Ruptured achilles and got surgery about a week ago. started having charlie horse type cramping in my calf. can feel that my calf/foot is swelling, but not sure if this is all normal or not 6 days out from surgery?

some swelling is normally expecteed post surgery. But if the symptoms do not get better pl have your surgeon take a look. In the meantime use a heating pad to the area 3-4 times a day and take Ibuprofen. Hope you feel better

I imagine you are in a cast. You should not be using heat at this time. Use ice behind the knee to control swelling. You have to be careful about swelling inside a cast. Also swelling delays healing. Try taking electrolytes. If this does not help see surgeon to reposition the ankle.
