A kidney evaluation is important since hypertension can lead to kidney damage which leads to protein in the urine. Controlling your blood pressure is the most important step to avoid significant kidney damage. Blood work to assess your kidney function is important. See your doctor for further testing of your kidneys. Good luck to you!
