A member asked:

I have a white spot lesions and my dentist told to use normal toothpaste of 1000ppm flouride and it might resolve. is it enough or i need more flouride? is there clinical evidence that 1000 ppm flouride reverse early decay leisson ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A white spot on tooth is a precursor for developing a cavity .The enamel on the tooth has become demineralized[weakened] from a poor diet of acidic foods, high carb foods. and artificial sweeteners. Also too much fluoride in diet can cause fluorosis and weaken the enamel of the tooth. A good oral hygiene program and diet as well as dental visits and treatment will keep you in good dental health.
