The Anemia needs to be more deeply investigated for varied potential causes; while doing some preventive measures like taking iron supplements, eating meat and vegetables high in iron. It is supposed that Gastrointestinal bleeding have been evaluated and one is still not menstruating. While Severe Anemia affects cognitive functions a visit with the Neurologist sooner than latter is appropriate.

That is understandably worrisome and unfortunately sometimes seen in practice. Make sure you keep your primary care doc in the loop and all options open as sometimes infections or liver disease, among others, may cause such symptoms in the context of worsening anemia.
