A member asked:

I am concerned about my blood test. the results were. rbc 5.48 h hemoglobin 16.1 h hematocrit 48.7 h neutrophils 71.9 h my doctor said its because i smoke too much. is this true or is there something else wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

One cig. is too much: A visit to one's doctor can help quit, especially if the doctor knows of successful smoking cessation methods, medications, and programs, all of which may help a tobacco user wanting to go cold turkey (stop all use at once). For users with good planning skills and willpower, they can cut out a portion of their use (such as 1/3 or 1/2) every couple of weeks or so, and eventually get to zero use.
