F 65 yrs. ultrasound show 4.2 cm cyst on one kidney (that is enlarged & hyperechoic central tissue) & 1.2 cm on the other. dr did not mention thickness nor complex but asked for ct. all kidney blood and urine tests normal. cr 0.85. why ct scan?

Because of the hyperechoic central tissue of the large cyst & that cyst should be reported as a complex cyst, not a simple cyst. Your kidney function is normal so CT WITH intravenous contrast should be done. Kidney cyst or mass doesn't alter kidney function much so normal serum creatinine is the norm. Normal urinalysis (no blood) is a good sign but it doesn't rule out a malignant kidney lesion.
