Is a neg strep test always right? i got 2 done within days apart from having a sore throat on and off with swollen lymph nodes for 2-3 weeks. sore throat eventually went away but neck still feels tight/swollen. i don't have a pcp?

Most infections like yours are due to viruses, not strep; you can believe the test result, you don't have strep throat. Mononucleosis is possible, especially with symptom persisting more than 2 weeks -- but rare t your age. If your symptoms continue, find a physician for in-person evaluation and advice. Good luck.
