Sent to er yesterday because of double vision in short-distance viewing, headaches, and painful, stiff neck. pa worried,meningitis. negative cat scan and blood work. but found hypoattenuation-left frontal lobe, volume loss in white matter. what's up?

Do you have any underlying disease such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc? Meningitis can't be diagnosed by just CT scan and blood test, lumbar puncture is necessary but diplopia (double vision) is not a common symptom of meningitis.
