3.5cm lymph nodes in upper neck for years, no infection. surgeon said they were in too dangerous a spot to remove but wanted to rule out cancer. fna was clear then removed a normal sized node near them. does that rule lymphoma taking a nearby node?

You should not worry if fine needle aspiration is negative for malignancy especially this lesion has unchanged for years.

If it has not changed in years, it is not cancer. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
