I am 55 years old and quite healthy. i had turp 4 weeks ago, but i cannot control my urination during the day at all. i can control a little bit during the evening. it does not hurt. i have not noticed any significant progress. is it normal? what cou?

Your incontinence seems severe but not uncommonly does it take months to improve. The cause is mainly due to internal sphincter insufficiency which is resulted from the TURP procedure. I wonder if you were instructed pelvic floor exercises before the surgery and after the surgery and you need to practice harder. Please contact your urologist for further advice.

occasionally it takes some time to control the stream after TURP, If not better in a couple of weeks see your urologist. In the meantime try stopping the flow in midstream then flow and stop several times when you urinate. Hope you do well.
