A member asked:

Is it safe to return to work if you have pink eye and are taking prescription eye drops . how many days is sufficient ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It may depend on the type of work, but generally typical viral conjunctivitis may be contagious for 1-2 weeks after diagnosis. It is spread by direct contact, so if you are able to avoid touching your eyes, not touch things commonly touched by other people (doorknobs, etc), and don't leave tissues lying around, the contagious period may be much shorter.
