Under-cooked pork products do not transmit HIV, but they should not be eaten by humans or pet because they can contain a parasite which causes Trichinosis (or Trichinellosis). The infection can cause gastrointestinal symptoms within days of exposure. It is recommended to contact your health care provider as soon as possible because treatment is most effective early in the infection.
