I had gallstones so had surgery and biopsy report of gallbladder said "chronic cholecystitis". does this cause because of the gallstones or do i need to further get an mrcp to check for bile duct stones as well?

Most cases of chronic cholecystitis are associated with presence of gall stones. Since your gall bladder and gall stones are now removed & as long as you have no symptoms or signs of bile duct blockage, there's no need to undergo an MRCP or any other tests.
