A member asked:

I had gallstones so had surgery and biopsy report of gallbladder said "chronic cholecystitis". does this cause because of the gallstones or do i need to further get an mrcp to check for bile duct stones as well?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most cases of chronic cholecystitis are associated with presence of gall stones. Since your gall bladder and gall stones are now removed & as long as you have no symptoms or signs of bile duct blockage, there's no need to undergo an MRCP or any other tests.
