Im 30 year old male. carotid ultrasound found mild atherosclerosis. i have symptoms in my arms and legs during exercise. is atherosclerosis usually a systemic disease found throughout the body or is it usually in one area in the body?

My expectation is the process can be found to some degree in any part of your body studied in such detail. Please consult with your primary doc or a cardiologist. This finding at a listed age of 35 suggests you need to be evaluated for a significand lipid disorder that could result in a early demise. Treatments are available.

It is a systemic disease related to your genome and how you have fed/smoked it so far. It can appear in many sites before the rust clogs circulation up: aorta, carotid. walls of coronary arteries. Look at Ornish diet to use to reverse. Now would be good time to start. But discuss with Dr about meds. stopping smoking etc.
